About Us
Overview: Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless (IPH), located in the Sheridan Hollow neighborhood of Albany, New York, has provided services to homeless individuals and families since its founding in 1984. Interfaith’s Emergency Shelter provides dormitory-style emergency shelter for 30 residents. Meals, showers, laundry, phone, and transportation are basic necessities provided to all guests. Interfaith empowers people to become self-sufficient, to reduce dependence upon public assistance, teach life skills, and to eliminate homeless recidivism. Additional programs include the Sheridan Hollow Drop in Center and Homelessness Intervention Program.
Mission: In recognition of the dignity and value of every human life, the mission of Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless is to provide emergency shelter, services, and advocacy for homeless people to maximize their self-sufficiency, foster their empowerment, and promote their reintegration into the community.
