Park Playhouse 2016

The Ambassadors are hard at work for each performance at the Park Playhouse this summer. With their dedication to hospitality and the support of KeyBank, the program underwriter, an evening in Washington Park with live theater has never been more enjoyable.

You’ll easily spot the smiling, helpful Ambassadors in their red polo shirts and caps. Be sure to say hello, ask for help with parking, or any questions.

It all started with PB&J and a park full of hungry kids.

In 2006, Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless (IPH) staff saw an increasing need amongst neighborhood children for dependable, free lunches. It began as a weekly distribution of sandwiches at area parks and evolved into a partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and community organizations. Ten years later, children count on the park program for activities, interactions, and a healthy lunch.

An IPH Summer Youth Program Coordinator supervises children and coordinates fun activities with community partners. We are thankful to the many generous grants, partners, and donors who make new summer experiences for the kids, including Albany Cross Fit, Albany Fire Department, Albany Police Department, Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region, Community Resource Federal Credit Union, Delmar Reformed Church: Friendship Singers Concert, Emma Willard School Phila Club, First United Methodist Church: Voices of Hope Concert, Honest Weight Food Co-op, Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, Rochester United Church Group, Smile Monster, and Stewart’s Shops.

There are so many ways that you can help us help others.
