Albany Realty Group Raises Funds from Closings in 2014

A successful year long fundraising program helped Albany Realty Group raise $1,050 for Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless (IPH).

Stories of homeless individuals with nowhere to go during the cold of winter sparked Marie Bettini of Albany Realty Group to take action and explore ways to get involved.

“I help people find a place to live everyday, but wanted to help those who cannot help themselves”, said Bettini.  “I made it a goal to make a difference in people’s lives however I could.”

Bettini met with IPH to take a tour of the Albany Emergency Shelter and Sheridan Hollow Drop-In Center and learn how she could support the homeless and low-income community.  Her team decided that after each closing her company made in 2014, she would make a donation to IPH.

“After meeting the committed staff, seeing the shelter, and learning about all the individuals that call IPH home, I was convinced that this was the right decision,” said Bettini.

IPH operates emergency shelters in Albany and Amsterdam, a daytime Sheridan Hollow Drop-In Center, and an overnight Safe Haven Shelter.  Additionally, a Housing Program, Health & Wellness Program, and Youth Program are administered by the agency.

Albany Realty Group will continue this practice of a donation for each closing during the year in 2015, funds that help support these critical programs.

Albany Realty Group is a local residential and commercial real estate company assisting clients buy and sell property in the Capital Region.
