IPH is looking for a team member who is highly-motivated, proactive, enthusiastic and passionate! This is a fast-paced, dynamic workplace that challenges and rewards its employees. IPH’s Health and Wellness Program provides a variety of free services to homeless and at-risk individuals and families, regardless of health insurance status.  Services include routine health screenings, including blood pressure checks, glucose screenings, and cholesterol screenings, interview and symptom triage, referrals for urgent visits as necessary, the provision of common over-the-counter medications, minor first aid, physicals, flu shot clinics, healthy living coaching, smoking cessation assistance, weight management counseling, free pregnancy tests, and monthly health education workshops.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of the Health and Wellness Program
  • Direct provision of the health care services outlined above to guests of IPH’s emergency shelter and Sheridan Hollow Drop-In Center
  • Scheduling, training, and supervision of Nurse Volunteers
  • Partnering with local educational institutions as a means of expanding the program’s services
  • Entering guest data into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and reporting regularly on service utilization and trends
  • Providing workshops for staff/guests on relevant health-related topics

Required qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN), BSN Preferred
  • 3 years experience in a human services setting
  • Supervisory experience
  • Valid NYS license and reliable transportation.

Position Hours:  Monday – Friday, roughly 8:30am-4:30pm, with occasional evenings

Salary:  $47,000 annually
