Green Tech Service Day 2013

IPH welcomed a classroom full of students from Green Tech High Charter School for a day of service last week.

For the second year in a row, as part of a business and entrepreneurship class, students learned about how non-profit organizations work and the types of jobs that exist in the field.  To complement their studies, they visit local non-profits, learn about the work they do and volunteer their time to projects for the day.

As part of the visit to IPH, the nearly 30 students helped with a variety of tasks including preparing meals for the Albany Emergency Shelter and Sheridan Hollow Drop-In Center, raking leaves and sorting clothes in our clothing pantry.

The experience helped bring the students’ classroom studies into a real organization, and created a memorable day for our guests.
